Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a short-term, research-based approach to treating relationship problems with individuals, couples and families. EFT is based on attachment research which shows that humans have an inborn need for reliable attachment figures to whom they can turn for comfort and support. EFT has been shown to be effective in helping three out of four couples recover from significant distress. EFT is an experiential therapy based on creating moments of connection between partners.
I am especially skilled in the area of relationships. I have advanced training in EFT. Successful couples therapy facilitates significant positive change for the individual as well as the couple. My primary goal is to help clients come to a better understanding of themselves and to recognize their own inner strengths. I aim to help my clients reduce conflict and enjoy more secure relationships.
